Solid Waste & Recycling

Clarendon County operates 12 recycling centers, located throughout the county for residential recycling and household garbage disposal. These centers are for CLARENDON COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY – not for commercial use. Businesses and individuals who reside outside of Clarendon County are prohibited from using these centers.

Clarendon County uses the services of Waste Management of South Carolina (WMSC) to collect and transport municipal solid waste and recyclables from the recycling centers. Site attendants are employees of WMSC. They manage day-to-day operations and enforce Clarendon County’s and WMSC’s policies. Clarendon County Solid Waste and Recycling is responsible for overseeing operations of county-owned property at these recycling centers.

Clarendon County Landfill – Site L – is for commercial and residential use. No household garbage is accepted. For moreinformation, see “County Landfill” onthe opposite side.
