Clerk of Court

The Clarendon County Clerk of Court’s office maintains records of cases heard in Court of Common Pleas, which is civil disputes between parties, schedules jury and non-jury rosters for Common Pleas, maintains records of all judgments for Common Pleas, and collects fine payments for General Sessions Court. This office accepts cash, money orders, and credit card payments for court fines. No personal checks are accepted for fine payments. General Sessions court fine payments can be made online at allpaid.com utilizing the defendant’s court case or indictment number and the pay location code (PLC) 4207.

This office does not provide legal advice, nor do we assist with filling out court documents. Copies of criminal or civil records can be made in person, requested via mail, and/or sent via a fax request with all methods requiring a 24-hour turnaround. In some instances, it may take additional time if the file(s) is not located in the courthouse. Copies of documents are $2.00 for the first 4 pages and 25 cents per page thereafter.

Additionally, our office does not provide research of any kind. You may search the court records online by visiting the SC Judicial Website at www.sccourts.org and selecting the public index/records search.

The Clerk of Court’s office accepts applications for the Public Defender’s office during our normal business hours. The non-refundable fee of $40.00 is to be paid by cash or money order at the time of application. We do not accept personal checks or credit card payments for this service. All questions regarding appointments, court dates, or anything related to the office of the Public Defender should be directed to that office at (803) 433-0188.

The Family Court division of the Clerk of Court’s Office is responsible for filings related to Child Support, Divorce proceedings, and Juvenile matters. All questions regarding child support payments should be directed to the State Disbursement Unit at (800) 768-5858. Questions regarding court proceedings, hearings, and non-child support-related matters can be directed to Family Court at (803) 435-4210. Child Support printouts are done on Thursdays only between the hours of 1-3 pm.

Office hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm for the Clerk of Court and Family Court offices. We are closed on major holidays.
